WPI Gauge Ruler
WPI Gauge Ruler
We're so thrilled to offer these WPI Gauge Rulers as part of our new wooden knitting tools line. They are handmade in the USA by a woman maker/small business owner.
Our gauges are a beautiful way to calculate wraps per inch (WPI) to measure the thickness of your yarn. This tool is used by spinners, but is also helpful for knitters and crocheters to determine the weight of the yarn and what the approximate gauge will be.
The guides also have lines on the back to measure your yarn against, including lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, bulky and super bulky. The guide measures about 3 inches tall by 1.5 inches wide and comes with a brass clasp to hang on your knitting bag.

General Listing Information and Disclaimers
Blue Savannah Yarn and Fiber are all hand dyed by Kristin. She uses a centimeter gram scale to weigh dyes so colorways can be reproduced as accurately as possible. Variations between dyelots will still occur. Please purchase enough yarn in from a single dye lot to complete your project.
We work to take color accurate photos and represent our products to the best of our ability. Please remember that colors will vary from screen to screen.
All items are produced in and ship from our smoke-free, cat friendly home. Though the cats would all agree their fur is the ultimate luxury fiber, they are kept away from direct contact with our products.
A Note About Washing
Blue Savannah products are dyed using acid dyes. Dyes are fully set and fibers are pH balanced before leaving the studio; however, different water quality and detergent choices may cause some bleeding to happen during washing. To achieve best results, please follow these washing instructions for your completed hand spun skeins and finished projects:
- Wash in cold (70°F) water with wool wash and a splash of vinegar
- Drain wash water and gently wring out skein or project
- Rinse by soaking in cold water with a splash of vinegar for 10 minutes. Gently wring out water. Repeat if necessary. This step restores the yarn's pH level.
- Hang skein or shape project and lay flat to dry
