About Our Yarn Bases

We offer you the yarn bases we love best!  Our yarn and fiber are hand dyed in small batches by Kristin, and carefully selected to be soft, durable, and sustainable.  All of our wool comes from from sheep that have not been subject to mulesing. 

Here's a brief description of our current offerings so you can choose the base that best fits your project.  Needle/hook sizes are general suggestions--you may use a wide variety of sizes to achieve the fabric best suited to your project.

Kidsilk Mohair Lace Weight Yarn

This yarn is a lovely light blend of 70% Kid Mohair and 30% Silk.  Use it alone or hold together with another yarn for a flattering elegant, sophisticated look.

Perfect for shawls, sweaters, and shrugs, it is available in a range of colors. The colors are designed to complement many of our fingering and DK weight yarns, and we are confident you will find the perfect pairing for all your project ideas.

Merino Cashmere Nylon Fingering Weight Yarn

This is our bespoke fingering weight yarn, designed by and milled exclusively for Blue Savannah in England. It is butter soft and versatile, suitable for everything from socks to sweaters and other next-to-skin garments.
